Matt Kemp Traded

Matt Kemp got traded to the Padres about a week ago. It makes me sad because Matt Kemp has been on the Dodgers for years. He is a really good player too. Last year, Matt Kemp had 25 home runs. It is just hard to see a true Dodgers star have to leave the team.

We got a catcher and 2 pitchers in return for the Kemp trade. The Dodgers are trying hard to win a championship. The Dodgers are a very good team, but we didn't win the championship. I think that the Dodgers will always be a championship contender with Clayton Kershaw pitching. I hope that the Dodgers organization's choices will be a good decision. It is hard to say if it is right now because Matt Kemp is one of my favorite players on the Dodgers.

Kobe's Milestone

Kobe Bryant passed Michael Jordan in career points yesterday. Kobe Bryant now has the 3rd most points in NBA history. That's pretty cool to say. Kobe is getting old, and he would have to play about 3 more years to pass Karl Malone. Kobe said that his body is tired everyday and he wouldn't be able to. Kobe might play 1 more year, hopefully.

Kobe has been a scorer for his whole career in the NBA. He was in the NBA for 18 years. I just think that that's crazy because he was in the NBA before I was even born. Former NBA players and NBA superstars were saying congratulations to Kobe on Twitter. Even Michael Jordan congratulations to him, and he also said how much he enjoyed watching Kobe Bryant through his whole career.

People say how identical Kobe and Jordan are in basketball. I agree with it because I just see a lot of similarities when I watched them play side by side. I think that Kobe studied how Jordan plays basketball. I think that's the only reason why his career was so successful. I think that Kobe and Jordan are pretty identical in basketball.

Basketball Practice

Basketball practice has started this year and it is tough. It is all about conditioning for the first month. All we do is run and exercise. It is tough, but I'll eventually get used to it. I can't wait until I get in shape!

I can't wait for tomorrow's basketball game. All of this weeks practice comes to this. This is where running and exercising are effective. I am able to play the whole game with all of my effort when I'm in shape. It's a great feeling.

Basketball Jerseys

My high school basketball team has finally got new jerseys for us to wear during games. The high school basketball team has been wearing the jerseys for 8 years before we got this one. I was able to customize my jersey and put my number and last name on the back. I am so excited to wear them when I am playing basketball. They look great!

I am so happy that we got new jerseys this year. We had to bust our butt to get them. We had to raise about $3000 in fundraisers. It is hard to get money during fundraisers because there are only 400 people that live on this island. I am just happy that we were able to get jerseys for basketball this year.

I paid for my own jersey so I can keep mine and have it say my last name on the back. It will always be a great thing for me to have as a memory about my high school basketball career. I am going to remember my high school basketball team for my whole life. It was always my dream to play basketball for my high school team. It was just so fun playing for the St. Paul Sea Parrots.

The Future That The Lakers Have

Kobe Bryant and Rajon Rondo met on Thursday in Boston. They had breakfast together. Two players that have won a championship in their NBA career. The players would have a hand in glove fit with each other because Rondo is a passer and Kobe is a scorer. The Lakers fans would love seeing Rondo in a purple and gold jersey next year.

Rajon Rondo is a free agent at the end of this season. Kobe would love to have Rondo on his team. There were sometimes rumors that Boston wouldn't want Rondo anymore. Kobe is friends with Rondo because he thinks that Rondo is a spectacular player. Kobe actually said to Boston, "You don't want Rondo? Send him my way. I love everything about him".

I'm sure that Rondo wouldn't want to be with the Celtics anymore. The aren't winning games this season. Rondo has also been criticized by his own teams fans. I think that the team can't contend for the championship, and it won't be for a long time. I'm sure that Rondo wants to leave the Celtics, and I think that the Lakers would be the perfect team to go to this off season.

Rajon Rondo would be great to have for the Lakers, as the Lakers are struggling right now to get wins. The Laker fans and staff are getting desperate for another superstar to play for the Lakers. Rondo would be the best person for that. He could pass, shoot, steal, and grab rebounds like crazy. Rondo actually got 17 rebounds, 18 assists, and 20 points in one game. That's unheard of in the NBA, especially for his height as he is only a point guard.

Kobe likes his attitude on the court. Kobe explained it as being an a--hole like himself. Rondo didn't take that as offensive, as he said it was a good compliment, and he feels the same way about Kobe. A scorer and a passer having the same attitude and wanting to win, would be great to have on the same team. Two champions coming together to play basketball with each other.

It seems like these two players were made to play on the same team. They already have good chemistry with each other and their not even on the same team. That is hard to do with both of these guy's attitude. An example is Kobe and Dwight Howard. Dwight Howard is also a superstar in the NBA and he went to the Lakers for a year. They didn't like each other to begin with. They had no chemistry what so ever. A great team of talent, just couldn't win with no chemistry. It is hard to match Kobe with his attitude, but Rondo is the exact same way.

I think that good chemistry and talent win championships. That is exactly what the Lakers will have if Rondo comes to the Lakers. I'm sure that both Kobe and Rondo had thought of that. The Lakers can go from a team that is struggling for a win to a championship contender in just one off season. I think this is how great Rondo and Kobe's chemistry are.

Friday's Basketball Game

I play for the St. Paul Sea Parrots. I am the starting center for the team. I love playing for my hometown team. I am a senior and have been playing since my freshman year. It is a good way to make new friends, and get a lot of experience on the court.

Last Friday, I played against the community team. They are all adults. It gives us good experience and gets us ready for regionals. The adults are skilled, but they have bad attitudes. Well, most of them have bad attitudes.

It was a close game. It was one of the hardest teams that we were going to face this year. When we play basketball with the community team, the game seems more emotional. I like it that way. It makes me want to win more. We ended up beating them by 4 points at the end of the game.

I had 16 points and plenty of rebounds that game. I've been doing pretty good lately. I think that I've only been doing good when I get a lot of offensive rebounds. It kind of gives me a little spark and energy. Sometimes I can't get offensive rebounds because I'm too out of shape, but I'm not too bad right now.

Kobe Still Has It

Kobe Bryant and the Lakers have been doing great the past two games. Before these two games, the lakers had one win and nine losses. They were doing horrible on defense. After the first ten games, the Lakers won two straight wins. They have beat the Atlanta Hawks and the the top team in the west right now, the Houston Rockets.

Kobe leads the whole league in points right now at 27.5 points per game. He has been doing great scoring points and dishing out assists, as he got seven assists against the Rockets. Kobe has passed the 32,000 points mark against the Hawks, and isn't finished yet. He is scoring a bunch and is predicted the surpass Michael Jordan's scoring record in December. After he passes Michael Jordan, he will have the 3rd most points in NBA history.

I think it is amazing to have watched, and am still watching Kobe make history. You don't see someone make roughly 30 points a game for 17 years. It just makes me speechless. I'm so happy that Kobe stayed with the Lakers and wants to retire a Laker. Kobe is the youngest player to ever get 32,000 points.

Jordan Hill has also been showing improvement on his shot by the free throw line. He made four back to back shots right there because of just a simple screen. Kobe would get screened by Jordan Hill and the opposing team would double team Kobe every time since he is a great scorer. Jordan Hill would be wide open every time. I think that this is a perfect opportunity for the Lakers. If Kobe gets double teamed, he can pass it to the screener, and if he doesn't get double teamed, he can shoot the jumper.

You would assume that the Lakers were improving there offense since Swaggy P (Nick Young) is back on the court. It did a little bit, but they have definitely improved their defense. Comparing the last 2 games to the first 10 games of the season, the Lakers have shortened the opposing teams points by over 10 points. They have definitely stopped the fast break points from happening as frequently.

Kobe is relieved to have Nick Young back on the court. Kobe has been carrying the offensive load for the first 10 games of the season and he doesn't seem that tired. I'm sure that takes a lot of effort though. Nick Young is a great playmaker. It will take some much needed weight off of Kobe's shoulders.

Clayton Kershaw's Awarded

Clayton Kershaw, the Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher, was awarded the NL Cy Young award and also the MVP award. His stupendous pitching during the season stunned the world. Clayton Kershaw has won the Cy Young and MVP award with a major margin. He is the only pitcher to be awarded the NL MVP award since 1968 by Bob Gibson. Clayton Kershaw has earned that MVP from his season excellence.

Clayton Kershaw had 18 of 30 first place votes going toward him. Kershaw was in disbelief when he heard his name get called for MVP. He couldn't believe that he beat Gioncarlo Stanton and Andrew McKutchin. Gioncarlo Stanton is one of the best slugging hitters in the game, getting a lot of home runs. Andrew McKutchin is a superb outfielder that makes difficult catches like it's nothing.

When Kershaw pitched this season, the team won 21 games and only lost 4 games. The rest of the starting pitchers was only 3 games over .500 during the season. Its a big difference. Kershaw was 13 games over .500. Kershaw has won his second straight Cy Young award, his 3rd overall.

Clayton Kershaw has also won the NL Golden Glove award. It is for a player that makes difficult catches. One of the hardest balls to catch is on the pitchers mound. You have to have really good reflexes. Once the ball is hit, the ball is going straight towards you, and trust me, the batters hit hard. If you don't catch the ball, you will probably get hit.

I think that Clayton Kershaw is the best pitcher to ever play baseball. I'm so happy that he is on the Dodgers. I just love watching him play, and I'll be watching him play until he pitches his last baseball. I think that it will be a very long time before anybody sees such a great performance, especially on a game to game basis. The awesome part is, he's only going to get better.

Lakers Struggles

The Lakers are having a bad start of the season. They are 1-7 right now. I'm just happy that the Lakers won one game. I had a feeling that the Lakers would still do good this year. I know that they'll become good sometime soon though.

One of the reason why the Lakers are doing bad right now is because of all of the injuries. Steve Nash is out with a bad back. Julies Randle, the seventh round pick from Kentucky, is out for the season because he fractured his leg on the first game of the season. It is sad to see a young star with a lot of talent have a major injury right in the beginning of the season. Nick Young is injured, Ronnie Price is suspended for one game because he hit a player, and Wayne Ellington is on a break because his dad got shot and passed away. The Lakers are struggling with injuries just like last year.

On the other hand, Kobe is back to his normal self. He has been averaging 27.5 points a game. It is nice to watch Kobe play like he used to before he retires. Everybody thought that he wouldn't do so well anymore after all of those injuries last season. That's just what Kobe does, prove people wrong.

Carlos Boozer has been struggling. He hasn't been playing to his full potential. He hasn't been scoring much, and he's been letting the opposing team score a lot as he hasn't been playing great defense. He was never really looked at as a defensive player, but he can at least try. He is seen as a power forward who can get offensive rebounds and score the ball. He has been getting some offensive boards, but he hasn't been making his shots.

Jeremy Lin was a nice pick up for the Lakers, but it isn't enough. He got traded to the Lakers from Houston this off season because the Houston Rockets thought that Chris Bosh was going to head over. He has been scoring about 20 points a game and has been averaging 4.9 assists a game. He is leading the team in assists. It doesn't seem like much, but he's more of a scoring point guard.

I know that everyone is ranting about Kobe having the most missed shots in NBA history, but it isn't that bad. He only missed so many shots because he is a scorer thats has been in the NBA for many years. Kobe has missed a shot about every 3 minutes and 25 seconds. I'm going to name some familiar names that have missed in a shorter amount of time, Carmelo Anthony, Michael Jordan, Dominique Wilkins, Freeman Williams, and Allen Iverson. If any of these players have been in the league as long as Kobe has, there is a pretty good chance that they would have missed more.

All in all, I am a little disappointed that the Lakers aren't doing good right now. That doesn't mean that I won't be a Lakers fan for life.  This stuff just happens to NBA teams. The team could become a great team again at anytime. It can be 1 year, 5 year, 10 years, or even more. Sad to say, but it all depends on how much money the team has. I'm pretty sure that the Lakers will be a good team again very soon, because they have plenty of money. I'm just grinding out this season, and looking forward to the off season to see if any free agents come over and represent the Lakers franchise.

Giants Vs. Cardinals

I turned the tv on today and it was on the Giants and Cardinals game. It was tied 3 to 3 on the top of the 9th with the Cardinals batting and the bases were loaded with 2 outs. The batter grounded out and it was the Giants turn to bat. The first batter made it to first base for a single. The second batter struck out. The third batter took 4 balls and walked. The 4th batter hit a 3 run walkoff homerun. The Giants made it to the World Series to go against the Royals. Go Royals!

Kobe's Back On the Court

It is nice to see Kobe back on the court. I know it is only preseason, but I haven't seen him play since last year. He isn't as good as he was 10 years ago, but he is still very good. He is only ranked at 40th best in the NBA right now. It doesn't sound so right. As long as Kobe is healthy, he will prove them wrong this season.

Byron Scott, the head coach for the Lakers, and Kobe were discussing Kobe's minutes on the court for the future. Kobe is the leader on the team and can basically say if he wants to sit out or still be on the court. He did that a couple years ago to make it to the playoff. Kobe barely sat down that year, and his consequence was getting injured. You have a higher chance of getting injured when you're on the court a substantial amount of time every game. Especially if you are in your mid 30's.

Kobe and Byron Scott couldn't get to a conclusion yet. He'll definitely sit down more than the season a couple years ago. They made it to the playoffs that year. It wasn't a great post season though because Kobe was out. The Spurs swept the Lakers 4 games to 0.

Dodgers Postseason

The Dodgers didn't do so good this postseason. They only managed to get 1 win out of 4 games against the Cardinals. The Cardinals won every game except for the 2nd game. Every game that the Dodgers lost was messed up either by the starting pitcher or the bull pin in the 7th inning. Kershaw didn't play so well in the postseason. he only lost 3 games in the whole season and he lost 2 in the postseason.

Yasiel Puig did horrible in the postseason. He had a 8 straight strike outs in a row this series. Puig had to sit down the last game. The manager didn't want him to play. He is a really good player, it just didn't show this postseason. Andre Ethier took his place on the last game. He wasn't much of an impact.

Clayton Kershaw did great in both games until the 7th inning. My guess is that his pitch count was too high. The first game, we were up 6 to 2. Then the Cardinals scored 8 points in the seventh. We caught up in the end, but still lost. The end results were 10 to 9.

The second game, we did great. Zach Greinke was the starting pitcher and pitched a solid game. He also got 2 hits in the game as a batter. Most pitchers aren't good at batting, but Zach Greinke is good. He played until the 7th inning because the Dodgers manager didn't want him to get tired. They put in a middle reliever. The middle reliever did bad and gave up a 2 run homerun in the seventh which tied it. Matt Kemp stepped up to the plate on the bottom of the 8th inning and hit a homerun to give us back the lead. We won this game.

Hyun Jin Ryu was the starting pitcher for the 3rd game. He didn't do so bad before the seventh. He only gave up one run, which was a solo home run by Matt Carpenter. Then, in the seventh inning, Colten Wong got a 2 run homerun to give the Cardinals a 2 run lead. The Dodgers lost this game 3 to 1.

Clayton Kershaw played game 4 in an elimination game. He did great in the game until the 7th inning once again. He held the Cardinals to 0 runs until the seventh inning while we had 2. Than Matt Adams, the Cardinals first baseman, hit a 3 run homerun to give the Cardinals the lead. The Dodgers lost in the NLCS against the Cardinals for the second straight year.

Reindeer Hunt

I went hunting last week in school. The high school students went hunting. Hunting was an activity for Bering Sea Days. We hunted for reindeer. We were hunting in St. Paul Island Alaska.

Bering Sea Days is a week of science. All kinds of science is going on like dissecting, studies about endangered species, climate change, hunting, etc. A lot of scientists would fly to St. Paul to teach us  about our island. The scientists also like to come over here because they like the nature of St. Paul. We have different types of animals on this island. We have the biggest population of seals, a lot of sea birds, and reindeer.

We went on a high vantage point to find the reindeer. Once we found it, we went as close to them as possible by car. We had to walk, crawl, and crouch for a mile. We had to hold a backpack full of knives, warm clothing, and food. It takes a long time to get to the reindeer.

Once we get close enough to the reindeer, which is about a hundred yards away, you look for a nice reindeer to get. There was about 350 reindeer in a circle. It is hard to just focus on one reindeer when they are all moving. It takes a while to kill one because they have to be a little farther out of the group.

When the adult shot at the reindeer, he missed. He rattled the reindeer a little. When they got rattled, they moved about ten yards away from the shooter. There was a fawn that was out of the group and ran towards the group. The shooter shot it right below the ear.

You want to get a fawn or a yearling instead of an aged reindeer. You want a fawn or a yearling because the meat wouldn't taste so gamey compared to the old reindeer. You have to think about that kind of stuff before you shoot at a reindeer. Also, you don't want the reindeer to get scared and run when you shoot. You don't want them to run because they would build lactic acid inside their body and spoil the meat.

When the shooter killed the reindeer, we went over to cut it up. We cut from the butt hole to the neck. We did that so we can take the insides out like the stomach, lungs, intestines, and all that stuff. We had to be careful when we cut the stomach out because one poke with a knife will break the stomach open. That would spoil the meat. We also cut the head off.

After we were done cutting up the reindeer, we put it in a tobagan and dragged it a mile to the road. We had to go over steep hills and sand. We finally made it to the road and took a van in-town. We were happy that we got a reindeer with this group because it is hard to get a reindeer with a big group.

When we made it in-town, we hung the reindeer up by his legs in a shed. We had it hung up for three days. After the three days, we came back to the reindeer and rubbed vinegar all over the reindeer. We did this to clean the blood and fur off of the reindeer. After all of this, we cut off the fat. Then we cut the reindeer up in quarters.

The next day, we cooked the reindeer in the school kitchen. We smoked the reindeer and made jerky. Also, we grounded up the reindeer and gave a burger size to everyone who hunted to cook the burger themselves at their houses. We gave out about 20 pounds of ground meat. The last thing that we did was sauté the heart. Our tummies were full of delicious reindeer after.

Dodgers Push Through Giants With Kershaw's Great Performance

Clayton Kershaw played against the Giants on Wednesday. The magic number between both of them is 1 as there is 3 more games in the season. One win for the Dodgers would make them NLDS champions. The one win for the Giants will let them be in the wildcard for the postseason. The teams played and the Dodgers got the good outcome. The Dodgers won the game.

Clayton Kershaw played 8 innings out of nine. He passes his season high at 117 pitches this game. Kershaw had 11 strike outs and only let the Giants get 8 hits and 1 run. He also hit his first career triple of his career that game. This game extended Kershaw's pitching record to 21 wins and 3 losses.

Dodgers Win Making Postseason Birth

Dodgers win on Tuesday against the Giants give the Dodgers a postseason birth. They are ready to play in the postseason. I believe that they are going to win the Championship this year. Clayton Kershaw is has 20 wins and only 3 losses in the games he started. That is the best starting pitcher record in the league this year. He is also leading the league in ERA this year. The Dodgers are playing great so far this season and is ready to carry on in the postseason. There are only 4 more games until the postseason starts and the Dodgers are ready to beat any team that gets in their way. Look out MLB, the Dodgers are coming with a head of steam.

Dodgers Blowout Win Against Their Rival

The Dodgers played the Giants on September 13, 2014. The Dodgers ended up winning 17 to 0. It was a shutout win with the pitcher as Zach Greinke. Not only did Zach Greinke do great in pitching by keeping the Giants at 0 points, but he also got a couple hits. He hit a double in the 4th and a home run in the 6th. That was Greinke's 4th home run in his career.

The rest of the Dodgers did great in hitting also. The Dodgers got a season high of 24 hits in that game. Greinke only let the Giants hit 5 balls and none of them scored a man. This game made the Dodgers 2 games ahead of the Giants at the top of their division. It also gave them a guaranteed first place spot in the NL West. This will bring them into the playoffs.

This shutout win was the largest shutout win by either team in the history of this series. This was a great all-around game by the Dodgers. The Dodgers had a shutout loss against the Giants just the game before this shutout win. Don Mattingly, the manager and former MLB player said, "That was a little different game, huh?" I believe he is right. The Dodgers only had 3 hits their game before this one. They had 24 hits this game. They had 8 times more hits than their last game. I would say that that is definitely a different game.

The Dodgers and Giants series are always interesting. The games are usually closer though. It seems like everybody does a little better in these series. These series can have a big impact on the Dodgers since the Giants are in the same division and is right under the Dodgers. These games can either put the nails in the coffin to bring the Dodgers to the playoffs or let the runner up become first in the division.

These games are always my favorite to watch. It is my favorite because everyone does just a little bit better. It is reaching the end of the season and 2 division teams are fighting for the top. These are one of the most important games of the season for the leaders. Nobody wants to lose these games because it can make your whole season be for nothing.

Los Angeles Sports Fan

I am not only a basketball fan. I also love baseball. I am a Los Angeles Dodgers fan. My whole family goes for the Dodgers. The Dodgers have been the favorite team for this family for 3 generations. My grandpa was a fan, my dad is a fan, and I am.
My favorite players on the team are Clayton Kershaw, Yasiel Puig, and Matt Kemp. These are the 3 best players on the team. The whole team is good, but those were the 3 best. Clayton Kershaw is only 25 and is already on of the best pitchers in the game. He won the Cy Young award twice in his career. Yasiel Puig is only in his second season in the MLB and he has already one of the best power hitters to play the game. And lastly, Matt Kemp, he has been on the Dodgers the longest. He is an RBI machine.
The Dodgers are on the top of the NL West right now and are ready for the playoff witch is not that long from now. I remember hearing Yasiel Puig saying this a couple weeks ago. He said, "If you don't win in September, you don't play in September." Well the Dodgers have been winning. They've been winning this whole season. The team has had a safe 2 to 3 game lead over the second runner-up, the giants, the whole season.
The Giants are the Dodgers rivals. They are in the same division as the Dodgers, the NL West. They have been World Series Champions 2 out of 4 years. I believe that it is our turn this year though. Even Clayton Kershaw said it in an interview. He said, "It's either win the World Series or bust."
It is a good time to be a Dodgers fan. I'm always going to be a Dodgers fan. I don't care if they are doing bad or good. They will always be my favorite team. It is always nice when they are doing good though.

Kobe's Experience On The Court And How It Can Help The Young Players On The Lakers

Kobe has been an NBA player for 19 years. He's been through a lot of things on the court. Now Kobe can be a mentor to the rookies of the Laker team. He will help Julies Randle and Jordan Clarkson, the rookies that the Lakers picked from the NBA draft. Out of all current NBA players in the league, in my opinion, Kobe would definitely be the best person to learn from. Julies Randle and Jordan Clarkson are lucky to play alongside Kobe Bryant for the last years of his career.

Lakers New Coach. Familiar Face?

The Lakers have a new head coach for the team. His name is Byron Scott. You might find this name very familiar. Byron Scott was a Lakers shooting guard from 1983 to 1993. He was teammates with Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul Jabar, and James Worthy. He got 3 championships with the Lakers.

Byron Scott began his coaching career in 1998. He coached for the Kings, Nets, Hornets, Cavaliers, and now the Lakers. Byron Scott was the coach of the year in 2008. He was coaching the Hornets at the time. His team did so good because he had the good duo of superstars, Chris Paul and Tyson Chandler. The Laker fans are hoping that he will have a good year with the good player like Kobe Bryant, Jeremy Lin, Steve Nash, Julius Randle, and Carlos Boozer.

Kobe Bryant Comeback Season

It was Kobe Bryant's birthday last week. This season is going to be his 19th season in the NBA and with the Lakers. He joined the Lakers when he was 17 years old. Since then, he got 5 titles. Last year was his worst season yet, not only were the Lakers unsuccessful at making it to the playoffs, but Kobe only played 6 games. He got a torn achilles at the end of the 2012 season and didn't get to play until the middle of the 2013 season. When he did start to play, he injured himself again with a fractured knee to cause him to sit and watch the game for the rest of the season.

This 2014 season, the Laker fans are expecting Kobe to play basketball the way he used to. As he is fully healthy and ready to play basketball. He is excited to play with 3 new Laker faces. One of the new Lakers players are Julies Randle, a very skillful Kentucky college player who was picked from the Lakers for the 7th pick in the NBA draft. There are 2 other new faces on the Lakers lineup. Jeremy Lin and Carlos Boozer. All 3 of these Lakers players are on the Lakers to fill up the big spot of Pau Gasol who left because he was a free agent and wanted to be on a team that can contend for a championship.
