Lakers Struggles

The Lakers are having a bad start of the season. They are 1-7 right now. I'm just happy that the Lakers won one game. I had a feeling that the Lakers would still do good this year. I know that they'll become good sometime soon though.

One of the reason why the Lakers are doing bad right now is because of all of the injuries. Steve Nash is out with a bad back. Julies Randle, the seventh round pick from Kentucky, is out for the season because he fractured his leg on the first game of the season. It is sad to see a young star with a lot of talent have a major injury right in the beginning of the season. Nick Young is injured, Ronnie Price is suspended for one game because he hit a player, and Wayne Ellington is on a break because his dad got shot and passed away. The Lakers are struggling with injuries just like last year.

On the other hand, Kobe is back to his normal self. He has been averaging 27.5 points a game. It is nice to watch Kobe play like he used to before he retires. Everybody thought that he wouldn't do so well anymore after all of those injuries last season. That's just what Kobe does, prove people wrong.

Carlos Boozer has been struggling. He hasn't been playing to his full potential. He hasn't been scoring much, and he's been letting the opposing team score a lot as he hasn't been playing great defense. He was never really looked at as a defensive player, but he can at least try. He is seen as a power forward who can get offensive rebounds and score the ball. He has been getting some offensive boards, but he hasn't been making his shots.

Jeremy Lin was a nice pick up for the Lakers, but it isn't enough. He got traded to the Lakers from Houston this off season because the Houston Rockets thought that Chris Bosh was going to head over. He has been scoring about 20 points a game and has been averaging 4.9 assists a game. He is leading the team in assists. It doesn't seem like much, but he's more of a scoring point guard.

I know that everyone is ranting about Kobe having the most missed shots in NBA history, but it isn't that bad. He only missed so many shots because he is a scorer thats has been in the NBA for many years. Kobe has missed a shot about every 3 minutes and 25 seconds. I'm going to name some familiar names that have missed in a shorter amount of time, Carmelo Anthony, Michael Jordan, Dominique Wilkins, Freeman Williams, and Allen Iverson. If any of these players have been in the league as long as Kobe has, there is a pretty good chance that they would have missed more.

All in all, I am a little disappointed that the Lakers aren't doing good right now. That doesn't mean that I won't be a Lakers fan for life.  This stuff just happens to NBA teams. The team could become a great team again at anytime. It can be 1 year, 5 year, 10 years, or even more. Sad to say, but it all depends on how much money the team has. I'm pretty sure that the Lakers will be a good team again very soon, because they have plenty of money. I'm just grinding out this season, and looking forward to the off season to see if any free agents come over and represent the Lakers franchise.
