Excerising

       I ran one mile today. The mile took me 6 minutes and 45 seconds. It seems like it gets easier and easier to run my mile. Last week, I ran my mile n 6 minutes and 55 seconds and today, I beat it by 10 seconds. I ran pretty much ran 9 miles per hour the whole time.

Beautiful Weather

       On May 1st and 2nd, it was so nice out! There was clear skies and the Sun was out. The temperature was around 45˚F, and that is really hot for this time in St. Paul, Alaska. I was out riding around the island with my girlfriend and Kirky. We had to keep the windows open because it was so hot.

       We all saw a snowy owl on the side of South West Point road. It was pretty cool because snowy owls don't come hear that often. We also went for a walk at Reef point. While we were there, we saw a Sea Lion swimming close to shore. It is really cool because Sea Lions look huge in person!

Last Week of School

       This is my last week of High School. This is my last week because I have to decorate for my graduation. My graduation is coming up really quick, and I still need to finish my graduation speech! I can't wait until I am out of school, and have a good break to be lazy before I start working. I will be playing video games and sleeping.

MVP Results

       Stephen Curry won the MVP award of the 2014-2015 regular season. It was a little disappointing that James Harden didn't get it. I thought that James Harden should have got MVP award because he held the team to the 2nd best in the west, without Dwight Howard. I think that it is okay though, because Stephen Curry had a very impressive season. Steph also helped the Golden State Warriors have the best record in the NBA.

Clippers Game 5

       The Clippers played again yesterday against the Spurs. It was close all game! When the Clippers got a good lead, the Spurs would catch up right away. It was annoying watching the Spurs foul Deandre the whole game. I don't like it because it is cheating.

       The Spurs ended up beating the Clippers by 4 points. They lost because Deandre accidentally touched the ball while it was in the cylinder. They were down by one at that time, and they could have won the game if they didn't call the offensive interference. The Spurs got lucky and won the game. I hope that the Clippers don't lose game 6, since it is in a win-or-go-home situation.

Clippers Game

       The Clippers played against the Spurs yesterday. The Clippers really needed the win because the Spurs beat them twice and the Clippers only beat them once. The Clippers were doing good the whole game. The Clippers ended up beating the Spurs by 9 points. Now the series is tied, and I am looking forward to game 5 because it is at the Clippers home!

The Dodgers

       The Dodgers are still doing great this season. The Dodgers are first in the NL West with an 11-7 record. I thought that the Dodgers wouldn't be as good this year, since Matt Kemp was traded, but they are doing great! They were second in the NL West, not too long ago. They passed the Rockies to go to first not too long ago.

Birthday Present

       For my birthday present, I got a couple video games. The video games that I got were Halo 2 and Counter Strike. These video games are so old, it doesn't even say XBOX 360 on the cover. It only says XBOX, because it came out when the original XBOX was still popular. The video games are awesome and I think it is great how those video games are compatible with the XBOX 360!

Clippers and Spurs Game 2

       The NBA Playoffs are crazy this year! All the first round match ups except for the Clippers and Spurs are 2-0. The Clippers and Spurs game yesterday was an awesome game! I didn't like the ending, but it was still a great game. Blake Griffin and Tim Duncan were on fire and being really aggressive.

       The Spurs were fouling Deandre Jordan on purpose in the 4th quarter. They did that because Jordan struggles at the free throw line. Jordan couldn't make any free throws. Even Matt Barnes missed 3 free throws and JJ Reddick missed one free throw. I can't wait until they rule that out, so the other teams can't foul a struggling shooter purposely.

       The game was close all game. At the last seconds of the 4th quarter, the Clippers were up by 2 points. Blake Griffin had the ball and then he randomly lost the ball and turned it over. Patty Mills got the ball and ran down the court. He almost made the lay up, but he got fouled. He made 2 free throws and sent it to overtime.

       Manu Ginobili fouled out, Tim Duncan had 5 fouls, and Tony Parker got injured at the beginning of the overtime period. I thought it was a definite win for the Clippers. A lot of the bench players were doing good for the Spurs. The Spurs ended up winning by 4 points. It was disappointing, but it was still a great game.

Anthony Davis

       I can't believe how much Anthony Davis is improving! I knew he was going to be a really great player, maybe even the best in the league soon, but not right now! He can create his own shot by posting up, shooting mid range, shooting free throws, pick and rolls, and just dunking on everybody! He is so young still! He has only been in the league for 3 years and it usually takes about 5 years to become a great player for a center, but he is already great.

Baseball Season

       The Baseball season started this month! It is nice to watch the Dodgers play again! It is weird to not see Matt Kemp play with the Dodgers. The Dodgers are still doing really good though. I can't wait to watch Clayton Kershaw play!

       I noticed that the Dodgers had some new players. I saw that Jimmy Rollins and Howie Fredrick were on my team. Jimmy Rollins is a short stop and Howie Kendrick is a second baseman. They are pretty good players. I just watched Howie Kendrick get a game winning 2 RBI single on Wednesday!

Weather in St. Paul Alaska

       It has been pretty nice out yesterday and Wednesday. It seemed like it was turning into Summer weather! It is cold and windy today though. I can't wait until the Summer starts, so I can be in warm weather! I don't really go out during the winter, but I go out every once in a while during the Summer, because it is warm out.

My Birthday

       I had my birthday on Wednesday. I spent most of it at my house. I watched television and played Halo. I had burritos for dinner. After that, I ate cake and Rice Krispies.

MVP Race

       The race for the MVP this season is tight. The people that are contending are Russell Westbrook, James Harden,  and Stephen Curry. I believe that Russell Westbrook should win the MVP because he is going to have the scoring title for the season, and he also got 11 triple doubles this season. The next person with the most triple doubles for the season only has 3. It sucks that the thunder isn't going to the playoffs.

College Basketball

       I can't believe that the Kentucky Wildcats lost on Saturday vs. the Wisconsin Badgers. The Badgers are a good team, but I though that Kentucky was going to win the NCAA championship. I thought they were going to win because they were undefeated this season and just needed 2 more wins to win the championship. They would have been the first team since the 1976 Indiana Hoosiers to have an undefeated season. It was a true heartbreak for the Kentucky players and fans.

       The Duke Blue Devils played vs. the Michigan State Spartans on Saturday also. Michigan State had a really good start to the game where they had around a 15 point game. After that, Duke started to get on fire! They couldn't stop Duke from scoring! They ended up winning by 20 points.

       The championship game is today! Duke and Wisconsin are going to play against each other for the championship. I hope that Duke will win because I don't like Wisconsin. I also want Duke to win because Jahlil Okafor is really dominant in the paint. I can't wait until I get to watch the game!

Lent

       It is the 7th week of lent for Russian Orthodoxy. It gets pretty tough because you have to really fast for the last week. It is also tough because we have the longest church services out of all 7 weeks. It is such a relief after the Easter service though! It is a relief because you finally get to rest and can eat all you want.

       The Easter service starts at midnight on the 12th of April. The services usually last until 3:30 or 4 a.m.! Easter is all about celebrating Jesus's resurrection, after getting killed 3 days before. It is a beautiful service that is very uplifting and it just makes you happy at the end of the service. Easter is also very uplifting because Jesus is done suffering.

Day Off From School

       I had a day off from school on Tuesday. I had a day off because the school was having AMP testing. AMP stands for Alaska Measure of Progress. The school has to do these testings every year around the beginning of April. I finished my testing after my HSGQE (high school graduate qualifying exam) in 10th grade.

       I think that it was time well spent on the break. I slept in for a while, and then played Grand Theft Auto V on my Xbox. I was able to finish the rest of the campaign on the video game. At the end of the campaign, I earned 27 million dollars. After that, I went and bought awesome cars, planes, helicopters, and even Army tanks!

Weather in St. Paul Alaska

       The weather in St. Paul Alaska is pretty good right now. It's not too cold out right now. I was able to be outside for over an hour yesterday. It was about 25˚F, but it felt like 30˚F. It wasn't icy or anything, there was some snow on the ground, but there was none falling out of the skies. It was a bit cloudy also, but the Sun was peeking out for a while.

Time is Going By Too Fast

       I can't believe how much time has been going by. It is already April second! I am going to graduate on May 15th. I think that I am exited for that. I am also going to turn 18 in a couple more weeks. I think that that's crazy!

       I am going to attend the University of Alaska Anchorage after high school. It seems pretty crazy saying that I'm going to college. It will definitely be an experience. It will be cool because my brother also goes to this college. It will be nice to be in Anchorage with him. We would be able to play video games online a lot.

       I think that I want to live in a dorm for my first year. My brother asked if I wanted to stay at his apartment, but I'm not fully sure. I was told to live in a dorm for my first year. It would help me because I would have my own responsibilities, and it will make me more responsible for myself. I am going to have to apply for a dorm right now if I want to live in one, because it is pretty late.

Hackie Sacking

       I hackie sacked with Kirk and Andrey yesterday. I hackie sacked for over an hour! A hackie sack is a sand bag that you have to kick in the air numerous times. I used to hackie sack all the time when I was younger, but I haven't played in a long time. It was so fun!

       I played a couple different games of hackie sack. The first game was Killer 6. Killer 6 is when you have to kick the sand bag 6 times in a row. After you kick it 6 times in a row, you have to catch it. Once somebody catches it, everybody freezes. Once someone moves, you can throw the hackie sack at them.

       The other game that I played was elimination. Elimination is when you can't miss the hackie sack the first time. You can hit it the first time and miss the second, and still be in the game. If you miss the first attempt to kick the sand bag, you are out and have to wait until a new game. You can be sneaky and throw the hackie sack at one of the players, when you are out, and if they kick it, they are out and you get to go in for them.

       I did pretty good yesterday. I won a couple of times. I had a few good streaks. A streak is when you kick it a lot in a row. All in all, it was a fun time hackie sacking!

Video Games

       I got some new games for my Xbox 360 on my basketball trip. I got Left for Dead, Left for Dead 2, Halo Reach, Halo 3, and Halo 4. I played most of these games a bunch, but I never owned any. I used to play these games all the time like 5 years ago. It felt good playing all of these games again.

       Left for Dead games are zombie games. You are basically killing a bunch of zombies so you can make it to safety. It is fun playing these games because there are different kinds of zombies with different specialties. I also think that it is cool because you have a choice to use a melee. You would be able to use a axe, katana, or even a chain saw!

       I like all of the Halo games also. They are zombie and alien games. You get to kill a bunch of aliens and zombies. It also has a great story with it. It is fun because they created all kinds of alien guns that require a lot of creativity.

       I also like another Halo game, called Halo Reach. It is cool because you can be the creator. You can create your very own worlds! You can create something with all kinds of things from roads to even portals. You can do cool things like ride a car on the rough terrain, create stuff, or even fly on a jet pack.

Birthday Present

       I can't wait for my birthday coming up. I will get a 30-6 rifle from my God father. I can't wait to get the rifle because I would be able to hunt with it. I would want to hunt a sea lion with my rifle first. I would want to hunt a sea lion because it has a lot of meat on it, and it is delicious! I would be able to feed my family for a good while with the sea lion meat.

End of the Quarter

       I am pretty happy with my grades at the end of the quarter. My grades aren't great, but they aren't bad either. I have a couple C's, couple A's, and a B. I need to improve my GPA for my high school career by .03 so I can get a 2.5 GPA so I won't be on probation at the University of Alaska Anchorage. I will have around a 3.0 for the quarter. That will definitely help me get a 2.5.

Home Sweet Home

       I am happy to be home again. It wasn't that fun sleeping on a hard floor. I am back on my queen sized bed! I am actually able to sleep really quick right now. It is nice to be in my house again.

       I am also happy that I can play video games. I got some new video games when I was in Anchorage. I also got my other video games from Amazon that came in. I have been playing all of my Halo games. It is fun because I get to kill aliens and zombies.

       I am also happy to be at my home because of the food. I am happy to eat my dad's food because it is just so delicious! I started getting tired of all of the fast foods. They were good for the first day in Anchorage, but then it started to get gross. I also got tired of cafeteria food.

       Lastly, I like being home because I can walk everywhere. I live at a small town, and everything is pretty much walking distance. I know where everything is and I don't need to be with a big group of people. I also love how my family is with me. This is all the stuff I like about being home.

Anchorage

       Today, I went to the 5th Avenue Mall and got myself my graduation outfit. I got my outfit with the 3 other seniors on my team. After that, we went to the Diamond Center. I got myself new dress shoes for special occasions. I am satisfied with what I spent my money on today.

       After all of this, I had a dinner at Moose's Tooth. I had the Santa's Little Helper pizza. The Santa's Little Helper pizza had steak, pepperoni, and red pepper's as the toppings. I thought that it was delicious! The other pizza that I had was the pepperoni pizza.

       The last thing I did was watch a movie. I watched Unfinished Business at Diamond Center. It was awesome because the movie seats were able to recline. It was also cool because there was a lot less seats in the room compared to a regular theatre. The theatre I was at felt like I was in a plane on first class.

Fur Rondy

       I went to the Fur Rondy in Anchorage today. I went on the Apollo ride and the 1001 nachts ride. It was the craziest rides of my life! It was really scary, but I am more than happy that I experienced it. It was so fun and crazy!

Sportsmanship Award

       The St. Paul Sea Parrots got the sportsmanship award during regionals. We got the sportsmanship award from showing good attitude during the basketball games. It can be hard to have a good attitude for the whole game, especially when you are struggling. Our coach taught the basketball team to always have sportsmanship during our games. I think that this team could be a great role model to all of the future basketball teams in St. Paul.

Regionals

       We played our first game against the New Halen Malamutes. It was a pretty tough game. It was a really intense game because the game was so close. The crowd was also cheering like crazy for their team. It ended up going to overtime.

       During overtime, it was even more intense. The Malamutes ended up winning by 4 points. It isn't the end of the tournament for us though. We still have a chance of getting second place and going to state. We will have to win two more games.

       The same day we played Port Alsworth. We played pretty good. We ended up beating the team by 27 points. We are going to play New Stuyahok at 5 pm today. If we win, we will play the loser of the championship game for true second place.

Baseball Season

       I can't wait until the baseball season starts! The opening day for baseball will start on April 6. I just want to watch the Dodgers play. I want to watch them play because we have some new players. I don't know if the Dodgers will be as good as they were, because they are without Matt Kemp.

Carpentry Class

       My favorite class in school is carpentry. I like carpentry because I like to make stuff. It is really fun because it is cool what you can make by yourself. Right now, I am making a spice shelf. It is pretty easy right now, and it is really fun. I am happy that I can take a carpentry class!

Weather In St. Paul

       I live in Alaska, and it is supposed to be cold out around this time of the year. It was cold out for about a week so far this year. All the snow is melting right now. It has been warm outside for the last week. I'm sure I'm not the only one wondering, but is Global Warming actually happening?

All Star Games

       The first All Star event I watched was the 3-point contest. There were a bunch of notable players that can shoot the 3-pointer very good. The scores were a lot higher than usual. In the first round, Klay Thompson, Steph Curry, and Kyrie Irving had the highest score. Klay Thompson had the highest score out of everyone.

       At the second round, Kyrie Irving went first and scored an average score. The second shooter up was Steph Curry. He was on fire and made 13 3-pointers in a row. He had the highest score so far. Klay Thompson was the last player to shoot. He needed a miracle to make more points than Curry, but he couldn't do it. Steph Curry won the 3-point contest with a superb performance.

       The second event I watched was the Dunk Contest. The contestants were Giannis Antetokounmpo, Victor Olidipo, Mason Plumlee, and Zach Lavine. Victor Olidipo and Zach Lavine had the best dunks in the first round, and they were both perfect scores. Victor Olidipo had a 540˚ dunk and Zach Lavine had a dunk where he put the ball in between his legs. In the second round, Olidipo couldn't make his dunk, so it was an automatic win for Lavine. He had some incredible dunks!

       The last event I watched was the All Star Game. The All Star Game is when they have the best players in the league play against each other. It is fun watching those games because there are a lot of dunks. It is also a very high scoring game. The West All Stars beat the East All Stars by 3 points.

Basketball Practice

       Since the regionals tournament is coming so close, my coach told the team to take advantage of the last practices we have for the season. For the last two weeks, we will be hustling and running our hardest to be as prepared as possible for regionals. It can get pretty tough sometimes, but it is definitely worth it. It is worth it because we have a good chance at making it to the state tournament this year. It would be great to make it to the state tournaments because the Sea Parrots have never made it to the state tournament before.

       There are 3 good teams in regionals this year, and we are one of them. The other good teams in our region is the Manokotak Lynx and the King Cove T- Jacks. The two best teams in the region will go to the state tournament in Anchorage. The Manokotak Lynx are a small quick team and the King Cove T-Jacks are tall people who can shoot. The Sea Parrots, the team I play for, are tall who can shoot and get a bunch of rebounds.

Award Ceremony in Dillingham

       At the beginning of the award ceremony, after all the sockeye games, Dillingham showed appreciation of St. Paul. They said how good we were and how hard it is to travel for basketball games. They were amazed at how good we were for not playing any games before the Sockeye Tournament. They wanted to thank us for coming to their tournament and invited us to play there next year also.

       I am happy that they invited us to go to their tournament again next year, but there isn't going to be a team next year. It is very sad that we won't have a high school team next year. We aren't able to have a team next year because 4 of the 6 players are graduating. Another player is going to school at a different place. There isn't that much people in our high school that likes to play basketball, and the ones that do are too young.

       I can't wait until there is enough high school basketball players to have a team. I don't think that will be for a long time though. I love playing for the St. Paul Sea Parrots! I am proud to have played here my whole high school career. It was so fun and I made a lot of fun memories playing here.

St. Paul Round Robin Tournament

       We had a tournament on the 5th to 7th of February in St. Paul. We haven't had a tournament in St. Paul since 1981. The teams that came in are the New Stuyahok Eagles, Port Alsworth Lynx, and the New Halen Malamutes. There was a total of 6 games. The team I play for, the Sea Parrots, played all three of the teams.

       Our first game was against the New Halen Malamutes. They were a pretty tough team, they had a couple good shooters and a good post-up player. We were down by 9 at the end of the first half. Coach talked with us and made us bust our butts on the court. At the end of the game, we beat the Malamutes by ten points.

       The next day, we played against the New Stuyahok Eagles. The whole team was able to shoot the three pointer. We were down by 6 at the end of the first half. We ended up beating the Eagles by around 10. It was a tough team to play against, but we had the heart to win.

       Our last game was against the Port Alsworth Lynx. They had some good shooters, but they weren't the best team in the tournament. We were ahead by about 30 points at the end of halftime. We ended up beating the Lynx by about 40 points at the end of the game. It was a pretty easy game.

       At the end of the game, we had an award ceremony. The Port Alworth Lynx got 4th place and the sportsmanship award. The New Halen Malamutes has gotten the 3rd place trophy. New Stuyahok received the 2nd place trophy. The Sea Parrots received the 1st place trophy and we are displaying the trophy in the front of our school. I am happy to of been a part of this tournament.

Dillingham

       The team and I flew out to Dillingham on the 28th to participate in the 2015 Sockeye Tournament. So far, we have played 2 games and they were both 2A schools. Our first game, we played against the Togiak Huskies. We had a good 10 point lead the whole game. We beat them with the score at 59-48.

       Our next game was against the Dillingham Wolverines. Dillingham High School is the biggest 2A school in Alaska with 150 high school students. That's a lot of high school students compared to St. Paul with around 18 high school students. We were working together and playing good defense the whole game. We were ahead all of the 1st half. We lost the lead in the middle of the 3rd quarter. We kept it close the whole game, but ended up losing with the score at 48-59.

Scrimmage

       I had a scrimmage for practice a couple days ago. The purpose was to learn our plays and see if they would work against everybody. Anytime coach seen a problem with the play, he would blow the whistle and everyone on the court would freeze. We did that so he can show us what is wrong and what we should have done. It really helped us with our plays.

       We practiced a couple trap defenses on the other team and some basic moving offenses. It was really fun because I learned a bunch more about the plays. Now I understand all of the offenses and defenses. The defense was pretty confusing in the beginning, but then I started to get used of it. All in all, the scrimmage was definitely worth it.

Kobe's Career High in Assists

       It was nice to see Kobe play like himself when he played against the Cleveland Cavaliers. He was scoring points the way he always does, but he also got a career high in assists. Kobe made the Lakers so much better that game because he was the facilitator. It was really good because Kobe causes a lot of attention on offense. It was fun watching because I would watch Kobe get double teamed and he would pass it to the open man right away for the easy shot.

       8 of his assists were made by Jordan Hill. It was a perfect play for the Lakers to do. Kobe would come down the court and Jordan Hill would screen Kobe Bryant's man. Once they do that, Hill's man will follow Kobe since he is so good on defense. Kobe would then pass it to Hill for the mid-range shot.

       Kobe kept the game close. He is only limited 32 minutes a game because he is getting old. The Lakers couldn't overcome the Cav's during crunch-time though. It was a great game for Kobe and the Lakers. They are doing bad this season, but it didn't look like it in that game.

School

       I have pretty easy classes for my last semester. The only tough classes I have is language arts and social sciences. Social sciences is about learning about the brain. It's pretty tough right now. The fun classes I have is carpentry and P.E. I am building a spice shelf in carpentry.

Christmas Break

        During Christmas break, I had practice every weekday, a couple basketball games, some Christmas presents, and hung out with friends. We started to learn our plays for basketball. We have to learn our plays because we are going to play a tournament in Dillingham soon. We would also run a bunch so we could get in better shape. It is hard to get in shape, but it is definitely worth it.

       I played a couple of basketball games during Christmas break. I didn't play so good though. I wasn't doing good because I was prepared for playing basketball. I didn't have enough sleep and I didn't have any confidence. I will have to bring my confidence up if I want to fix my problems in basketball.

       I got a ugly Christmas sweater from my sister. It wasn't so ugly though because it was a Dodgers sweater. I also got a Kobe shirt from my brother. I like the shirt because it is dry fit so it wouldn't be soaked when I play basketball. I also got Far Cry 4. Far Cry 4 is a video game. I didn't really get into it yet though because the beginning seems pretty boring.

       This Christmas break, I hung out with my girlfriend, Kirk, and Alexay. It was fun because I haven't been hanging out with people often. It is also fun because they are all old friends. It is cool that they are old friends so we can talk about all of the funny memories we had. We played basketball, rode around, and played video games.
